Senior Automation QA Engineer (Vue.js + CMS)

<p><strong>Overview</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to own and evolve the quality strategy for our North American engineering team. You will work in a remote team environment, working closely with mid and junior-level QA engineers, software engineers, and SRE to ensure we deliver secure, reliable, performant, and user-friendly features at a high velocity.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>Hands-on Testing & Automation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and existing features in a Drupal + Vue.js stack.</li> <li>Develop and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and integration tests) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues that automated tests might miss.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration & Requirements Quality</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Product and Engineering to review requirements, UX designs, and technical specs for testability and clarity.</li> <li>Collaborate with other internal QA engineers located in European time zones.</li> <li>Participate in agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives) as the voice of quality.</li> <li>Provide clear, actionable feedback on defects, risks, and release readiness.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Release Readiness & Production Quality</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define and monitor entry/exit criteria for releases; provide go/no-go recommendations.</li> <li>Partner with SRE/Engineering on environment readiness, test data management, and release validation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Leadership & Mentorship</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mentor other QA engineers and developers on testing best practices and shift-left testing.</li> <li>Participate in root-cause analysis for major incidents and drive preventive measures (e.g., new tests, improved processes).</li> <li>Champion quality culture, encouraging ownership of quality across the entire team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing, with significant experience in web-based SaaS products.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with generative AI such as Claude Code for automated tests, workflows, and other automations.</li> <li>Strong background in writing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts in tools such as PHPUnit, specifically with Drupal or similar PHP-based CMS/platforms and MySQL;
