PATIENT ACCESS SCHEDULING SPECIALIST - PER DIEM SHIFTS (25471)

The Patient Access Scheduling Specialist effectively and accurately pre-registers patients in registration system. Assists the Revenue Cycle team with confirmation authorizations, registration, and gathering necessary trailer billing documentation. Coordinates with Patient Access Manager on staffing coverage, departmental reports and wait time statistics. Trains the patients access staff on insurance requirements and Charity Care guidelines. Informs physicians and/or patients that are Medicare recipients of any ABN issues. Demonstrates professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with patients, clients, families and fellow coworkers. Creates and promotes an environment conducive to teamwork. Ensures confidentiality.
