You’ll set the technical direction for fiber/copper aerial and underground builds (pole line, direct-buried, and conduit systems), ensure designs meet <strong data-start="419" data-end="427">NESC</strong> and client standards, and safeguard cost/schedule performance. You’ll mentor junior engineers, drive cross-functional coordination, and elevate quality through rigorous QA/QC, field validation, and data-driven improvements.</p> <hr data-start="653" data-end="656"> <h2 data-start="658" data-end="682">Core Responsibilities</h2> <h3 data-start="684" data-end="727">Planning, Design &amp; Technical Leadership</h3> <ul data-start="728" data-end="1223"> <li data-start="728" data-end="848"> <p data-start="730" data-end="848">Own engineering scope for multi-site/complex OSP builds (fiber &amp; copper; aerial/UG; pole, direct-buried, and conduit).</p> </li> <li data-start="849" data-end="974"> <p data-start="851" data-end="974">Produce and seal (where applicable) engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs, and construction work prints.</p> </li> <li data-start="975" data-end="1093"> <p data-start="977" data-end="1093">Perform advanced loop-loss and electronics sizing; plan field-mounted switch serving areas and network segmentation.</p> </li> <li data-start="1094" data-end="1223"> <p data-start="1096" data-end="1223">Lead constructability reviews, value engineering, and route optimization; resolve clearance, capacity, and alignment conflicts.</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="1225" data-end="1269">Field Validation, Standards &amp; Compliance</h3> <ul data-start="1270" data-end="1607"> <li data-start="1270" data-end="1399"> <p data-start="1272" data-end="1399">Direct and perform field surveys: pole, conduit, and buried-facility measurements; verify NESC clearances and make-ready needs.</p> </li> <li data-start="1400" data-end="1518"> <p data-start="1402" data-end="1518">Ensure compliance with <strong data-start="1425" data-end="1433">NESC</strong>, client specifications, and Pearce standards; conduct feasibility/economic analyses.</p> </li> <li data-start="1519" data-end="1607"> <p data-start="1521" data-end="1607">Author redlines/as-builts; drive corrective actions from field QA findings to closure.</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="1609" data-end="1640">Permitting, ROW &amp; Joint Use</h3> <ul data-start="1641" data-end="1974"> <li data-start="1641" data-end="1746"> <p data-start="1643" data-end="1746">Oversee complete permit packages (municipal/county/state) and coordinate <strong data-start="1716" data-end="1733">ROW/easements</strong> to approval.</p> </li> <li data-start="1747" data-end="1867"> <p data-start="1749" data-end="1867">Lead joint-use engineering (pole attachments, loading, and make-ready); coordinate with IOU/co-op/municipal utilities.</p> </li> <li data-start="1868" data-end="1974"> <p data-start="1870" data-end="1974">Interface with agencies and utilities to resolve conflicts, accelerate approvals, and de-risk schedules.</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="1976" data-end="2019">Budgeting, Tracking &amp; Quality Assurance</h3> <ul data-start="2020" data-end="2343"> <li data-start="2020" data-end="2137"> <p data-start="2022" data-end="2137">Build job budgets and forecasts; track actuals, changes, and variance drivers; recommend cost/schedule mitigations.</p> </li> <li data-start="2138" data-end="2246"> <p data-start="2140" data-end="2246">Establish project KPIs (cycle time, rework rate, punch-list aging) and run continuous-improvement actions.</p> </li> <li data-start="2247" data-end="2343"> <p data-start="2249" data-end="2343">Conduct periodic site inspections and formal QA/QC gates from design release through closeout.</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="2345" data-end="2403">Documentation, Systems &amp; Cross-Functional Coordination</h3> <ul data-start="2404" data-end="2812"> <li data-start="2404" data-end="2501"> <p data-start="2406" data-end="2501">Maintain authoritative records (designs, permits, ROW, accounting/property records, as-builts).</p> </li> <li data-start="2502" data-end="2592"> <p data-start="2504" data-end="2592">Prepare executive-ready reports/status dashboards; keep internal/client systems current.</p> </li> <li data-start="2593" data-end="2716"> <p data-start="2595" data-end="2716">Partner with PMs, construction, permitting, and vendors to align milestones and dependencies; lead technical touchpoints.</p> </li> <li data-start="2717" data-end="2812"> <p data-start="2719" data-end="2812">Provide technical guidance and mentorship to OSP Engineers I/II, designers, and permit staff.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="2814" data-end="2817"> <h2 data-start="2819" data-end="2837">Core Experience</h2> <h3 data-start="2839" data-end="2851">Required</h3> <ul data-start="2852&
