Assisting the Sr. Carpenter in the maintenance and repair of fixtures or surfaces in a cost-efficient manner that is in compliance with Company safety standards. Key Responsibilities Promptly performs quality repairs on carpentry-based items as directed by the reporting officer. Always actions assigned defect chits in a timely manner and to the highest standard possible. Effectively and efficiently manufactures or constructs carpentry projects using both rough and finishing carpentry techniques as directed by the reporting officer. Always maintains the Carpenter's Workshop in a clean, tidy and well organized manner. Works closely with the Carpenter to ensure required back-up materials are ordered in a timely fashion. Always executes all work in the most cost-efficient way and assists to achieve all financial goals set by the Company. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Successful candidate will have accured at least 12 months experience working as a carpenter or similar industry role. Carpenter background with preferable ship experience, shipyard or workshop ashore. Carpenter equipment knowledge (circular saw, drill, etc.) Able to varnish and paint
