We come from more than 50 different countries and cultures, and together we are creating the future of insurance.</p> <h2>About the Team</h2> <p>This role is part of the Data Science team, which is the largest department in our organization, consisting of close to 200 Data Scientists throughout the world.</p> <p>Our Data Scientists work in a full-lifecycle role across a broad range of subjects, acquiring extensive technical and professional experience in data science, data engineering, software engineering, business understanding, and client engagement.</p> <h3>Team Impact & Focus</h3> <ul> <li>The Data Science team actively participates in the definition and development of our suite of products focused on fraud detection, anti-money laundering, and claim automation.</li> <li>We possess deep technical and professional experience across coding, data science, data engineering, and client interactions.</li> <li>We work with a highly diverse set of data types, including structured data, free text, documents, and images.</li> <li>Our company is small enough that each person’s achievements have an impact on our overall performance, yet big enough to be a world leader and innovator in our domain.</li> <li>You will work alongside technical experts, playing a key role in deploying our enterprise-level solutions to our clients.</li> <li><strong>Local Context:</strong> You will be joining the Brazilian Data Science team, which works mostly for US Property & Casualty (P&C) customers. Our main focus is deploying solutions to new clients, maintaining client production, and contributing to the development of our Fraud Detection Solution.</li> </ul> <h2>Role Purpose & Responsibilities</h2> <p>As an intern, your primary purpose is to learn and support the deployment of Shift Technology’s solutions to clients and help maintain existing production environments. Working alongside technical experts and senior data scientists, you will assist with:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Client Implementation Support:</strong> Assist with Claim Fraud Detection (CFD) setups for new clients, focusing on learning ETL configuration, detection implementation, and workflow automation.</li> <li><strong>Feature Deployment:</strong> Help roll out new platform features to existing client environments.</li> <li><strong>Pipeline Optimization:</strong> Participate in driving continuous improvements across existing client environments and data pipelines.</li> <li><strong>Collaborative Engagement:</strong> Interact with internal teams to understand client roadmaps, collect user feedback, and review solution performance.</li> </ul> <h2>Requirements & Skills</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.</li> <li><strong>Software Engineering Foundations:</strong> A strong background or academic experience in an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language (such as C#, C/C++, or Java) and SQL. You should be eager to learn how to write maintainable, production-quality code.</li> <li><strong>AI Awareness:</strong> Academic knowledge or a clear understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data solutions, with the ability to communicate these concepts clearly.</li> <li><strong>Business & Client Mindset:</strong> Comfort or willingness to learn how to interact with stakeholders , alongside an eagerness to master the business aspects of our insurance products.</li> <li><strong>Collaboration & Language:</strong> A dedicated team player who works effectively across diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
